About
Jay
Born and raised in New Zealand, Jay graduated from The Bristol School of Shiatsu and has undertaken several years further study with renowned back pain specialist Nik Greenheart MRSS.
A Shiatsu treatment is performed fully clothed in loose fitting garments lying on a futon mat for sitting for people with mobility problems.
The initial session will be for 1½ hours with subsequent sessions lasting approximately 1 hour and payment is by donation.
Using gentle palm or finger pressure Shiatsu encourages the body's natural tendency towards health and balance.
Shiatsu recognises the connection between mind and body and the body's tendency to hold on to physical and emotional distorsions.
These distorsions can arise from the rigours of hard physical work, manifesting as back, neck or shoulder pain or the pain of holding trapped or unexpressed anger, grief, fear etc.
Shiatsu gently encourages release and movement towards emotional and physical balance, leading to increased energy and a sense of wellbeing.
